Vijay Dussera
Sri Nav Ratri ended on Friday 29th September with Devi Jagran and Garba events around the world.
Devotees who observed phalahaar (fruit fasting) should have broken their fast, the day of Vijaya Dussera.
Ram’s Victory Over Ravan
This day was named in Tretha Yugh after Lord Ram achieving victory over evil Rajah Ravan,
and re-uniting with Sita-Devi.
In parts of India effigies of Ravan are set alight on this day to mark the triumph of truth over
evil.
It is said in our scriptures that Lord Ram performed the Nav Ratri Puja of Durga Devi before
finding the strength to topple Ravan. During his archana to the Adi-Shakti Mataji, Devi Durga
divulged the secret to Ram of how to kill Ravan.
