EKADASI FASTING
"If a person fasts on Ekadasi, I will burn up all his sins and bestow upon him My
transcendental abode....Indeed, Ekadasi is the most meritorious day for destroying
all kinds of sins, and it has appeared in order to benefit everyone." *

if one is unable to do complete fasting avoid the following
1) All grains and products containing grains
example: rice, wheat, oats, cornflour
(read labels, do research if necessary)
2) Tomatoes, eggplant, cauliflour, green leafy vegetables, baking soda, baking powder, custard, peanuts with additives (raw peanuts and other nuts without salt, are acceptable).
3) All pulses
example: all types of dhals and peas
4) Certain spices including chilli, adhrak (ginger), mustard seeds, hing (it is mixed with flour usually), haldi some other spices and spice mixes are mixed with wheat or rice flour.
5) Sesame seeds
6) Salt
7) Certain other vegetable, but you should ask your Guru-ji about this as opinions vary - or email us [email protected]
8) Any ingredient that has been contaminated by grains or pulses in anyway, by hands with flour on etc..

All types of fruits
Peanuts and peanut oil
Potatoes
Coconut
Sugar, Gudr, Jaggery
Sweets made
out of just milk and ghee and sugar
(No grains etc.!!)
